About Mark
Welcome to Mind Path Therapy. My name is Mark Weitz, and I'm a therapist serving clients throughout Ontario, specializing in individual psychotherapy, trauma-informed care, life transitions counselling, and caregiver counselling for adults and seniors. As a registered social worker (RSW) and practicing clinician for more than 20 years, I offer compassionate and client-focused therapy that can provide new insight into your life and equip you with the skills to overcome life's obstacles.
My practice draws on a range of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). This allows me to tailor therapy to each client rather than fitting people into a single approach. I help clients navigate challenges including low or depressed mood, anxiety and stress, difficult life transitions, grief and loss, communication and relationship barriers, and the lasting effects of trauma. For clients with trauma histories, I draw on trauma-informed therapies to support work around safety, trust, and building resilience for a more engaged and purposeful life.
Caregiver counselling is a specialty I have maintained throughout my career in social work. I work closely with caregivers who are struggling to find balance in this meaningful but often demanding role, including those navigating anticipatory grief, caregiver burnout, and the complex emotions that accompany supporting an ill or aging loved one.
I received my Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto in 2001 and am a member in good standing of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) as well as the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW). I have more than two decades of combined experience providing individual counselling, psychotherapy, and community case management for adults, seniors, and caregivers.
I know it's not easy to ask for help. I'd be privileged to work with you and help create your path towards a more resilient and purposeful life.
